In 2017, QICGRE has committed to a new target of generating 30 per cent of all base load power from renewable energy by 2025.

In line with this commitment, two shopping centres located in the sunshine state of Queensland - Grand Central in Toowoomba, and Hyperdome in Logan - have been identified as the first proprieties to undergo installation of large-scale solar systems.

A detailed tender process has been completed, with each photovoltaic (PV) system able to generate more than 2MW and deliver renewable energy to around 30% of the properties' base load energy requirements.

This tender process was delivered in collaboration with the sustainability team from engineering consultancy firm WSP, who are providing technical expertise and independent advice for the project.

We are now at the preferred tenderer stage, and are finalising key performance metrics and project delivery specifications.
