Steven Leigh

Managing Director

Having helped create QICGRE in 1991, Steve now leads our global team of specialists and oversees the company-wide management of QICGRE’s strategic offering. Highly regarded as an industry luminary, Steve has stewarded our organisation through its significant global expansion and the regeneration of our commercial and retail properties. His leadership ensures QICGRE maintains its commitment to achieving exceptional outcomes for our clients, partners and the communities we serve. Steve has also driven the way we embed environmental, social and governance considerations and initiatives into all aspects of our decision-making. Steve is particularly focused on maintaining our diverse workplace and is one of the founding members of the Property Male Champions of Change – a working group established by the Property Council of Australia to act as agents for change, and improve workplace diversity in the property industry. Steve is a certified practising valuer and is a graduate of both the University of Queensland and the Queensland University of Technology in the disciplines of real estate valuation and project management.

David Asplin

David Asplin

Acting Managing Director

With more than 25-years’ experience in institutional asset management, as QICGRE’s Chief Operating Officer, David is responsible for driving QICGRE’s business performance. David also leads the investment management, project delivery, leasing, contract management and asset operations teams for QICGRE’s Australian portfolio. David commenced with QIC in 2012, and most recently coordinated QIC’s client facing team of Business Development Directors and asset class Investment Specialists. Prior to joining QIC, David held senior positions at LaSalle Investment Management, Challenger Financial Services and Colonial First State. David completed a Bachelor of Business in Accountancy at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), with an extended major in accounting and a minor in finance.

Stuart Miller

Global Director - Asset Strategy

Based out of Los Angeles, Stuart oversees the conceptualisation of projects within the U.S. and Australia, focusing on QICGRE's asset creation strategy for optimising investment capacity and returns for our clients. Over his 20-year career with QICGRE, Stuart has been fundamental to our strategic asset creation program to reimagine retail centres through mixed-use commercial and retail assets and exceptional architecture and design. Most recently, Stuart has overseen award-winning projects including Eastland, Robina Town Centre and Canberra Centre, with a combined project value of AUD $3 billion. Stuart is a certified practicing valuer and holds a Bachelor of Business (University of Queensland), and a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Financial Services Institute of Australia (FINSIA). Stuart is an Associate Member of the API and a Fellow of FINSIA.

Carleen Fitzsimon

Global Director – Governance & Business Management

Carleen is responsible for ensuring QICGRE’s governance environment is effective, understood and well-managed across our vertically integrated real estate investment model. Carleen is also accountable for ensuring business and ESG (environment, social and governance)-related planning in QICGRE is appropriately orchestrated and executed. Carleen leads four teams which deliver cross-functional support and counsel to QICGRE Capital and Investment Management: Stakeholder Relations and Engagement, Business Intelligence and Reporting, Analytics and Advisory, as well as, Governance and Initiatives. This centralised function provides whole-of-business solutions to immediate and emerging priorities and enables QICGRE to focus on continuous monitoring and management of material risks. With more than 20 years’ experience advising Boards and executives in the areas of corporate governance, compliance and risk management, Carleen holds a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) and Grad Dip Company Secretarial Practice. She is a member of the Governance Institute of Australia and Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Global Director – Capital

Matthew heads QICGRE’s Capital team which encompasses fund management, global mandates, capital transactions, treasury and debt management and coverage of QICGRE’s global strategic partnerships. Matthew leads QICGRE’s capital markets strategy across Australian and US markets and drives the development of new product lines. Matthew’s global team is well equipped to prepare for emerging opportunities in an ever-changing wholesale and listed environment. With 22 years’ experience in the retail sector and 17 years with QIC in regional shopping centre investment, development, product development and funds management, Matthew has overseen AUD18 billion in US and international transactions. Matthew has been responsible for the establishment of QICGRE’s real estate platform in the US, focusing on identifying new transaction opportunities. Matthew holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and Bachelor of IT (Statistics and Applied Mathematics) from Bond University through a Vice Chancellor’s scholarship.

General Manager – Strategy

Backed by more than two decades of strategic expertise within the retail, fashion, property, media and publishing industries, Skye is leading the business transformation of QICGRE. As the global head of strategy, Skye is responsible for predicting future consumer behaviour and for integrating product, brand and digital strategies across our portfolio in Australia and the US to create exceptional retail experiences that drive audience engagement and connection. Through her focus on product innovation to create adaptive places that bring people and communities together, Skye delivers market-leading investment and asset creation for our investors and retail and commercial partners. Skye holds a Bachelor of Economics from Macquarie University.

Director – Australian Investment Management

Daryl leads the division responsible for the origination, delivery and management of some of the most significant mixed-use developments in metropolitan and suburban Australia this decade. His expertise in running the end-to-end investment lifecycle is founded on more than 20 years’ experience in asset creation and management, with a keen focus on value enhancement and a strategic approach to multistakeholder negotiations. Daryl is proud to head up a future-focused team committed to delivering long-term, sustainable returns from a diversified property portfolio. His stewardship of QIC’s multimillion-dollar development pipeline includes the $800m transformation of 80 Collins Street in Melbourne and the continued evolution of Canberra Centre, positioning these assets as the preeminent lifestyle destinations in their respective cities. Prior to joining QICGRE he held senior positions at Colonial First State and Novion Property Group. His professional experience is supported by a Bachelor of Business (Property) from RMIT.

Ian Coltman

General Manager – Design and Delivery

Ian joined QICGRE in 2001 and has been instrumental in various project delivery roles right across the portfolio. He is now responsible for a team of 60 working across architecture, interior design, construction and project management. Ian has 36 years’ experience in the construction industry in Australia and the US. Ian and his team deliver our project pipeline and operational centres across the portfolio in Australia. He is a qualified carpenter, foreman and clerk of works.

Marc Joshi

Head of Stakeholder Relations and Communications

With over 15 years’ experience in the property sector, specifically in the field of communications and engagement, Marc now oversees the external and internal communications output of QICGRE, delivered in collaboration with our partner agencies. Marc has been with associated with QICGRE for almost 14 years, providing strategic communications counsel for B2B public relations, internal communications and B2C communications at the asset level for QICGRE’s domestic and international portfolio. Marc’s role also includes the delivery of QICGRE’s environmental, social and governance engagement initiatives, aligned to our vision to reimagine the places where people to choose to be. Marc has a Bachelor of Communications and Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland.

Adrian Zanatta

National Contracts Manager

Adrian has been involved in the successful delivery of QICGRE projects for more than 20 years. He leads our contracts team and manages risk throughout the entire lifecycle of our assets, commencing from acquisition, construction and re-development and throughout their operations. His extensive experience in real estate law, coupled with his insightful and practical approach to business, provides our team with crucial support to effectively manage our diverse, multifaceted portfolio. Adrian holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland. His career commenced as a solicitor at Allens in the Property and Projects group.
