From its beginnings as Monaro Mall, a landmark development built in Australia’s capital city in 1963, Canberra Centre has set the benchmark for innovation in architecture and style.

Forming part of American architect Walter Burley Griffin’s original plan for the city, the Centre introduced a new concept to Australian retail in the 60s as the first fully enclosed and air-conditioned shopping mall.

Throughout the 50 years that followed, Canberra Centre has seen several major renovations, the most recent of which was finalised in 2017 with the unveiling of two specialised lifestyle and beauty precincts within Monaro Mall.
